We thought the worst would pass us by…
We didn’t know we’d learn to survive
It started in silence, the whole world froze,
A creeping shadow nobody chose,
Masked conversations on empty streets,
Locked in our homes, afraid to breathe.
Keeping distance, not knowing what stays,
Counting the nights, losing our days.
Then came the anger out into the streets,
Voices colliding, hearts skipping beats.
Protests and chaos, a nation divided,
Round after round with no one to guide it.
Sirens keep screaming night after night,
Skies flashing red in the middle of fights,
Families waiting, no answers in sight,
Holding on hope with all of their might.
Borders are burning from north down south,
Fire keeps falling, no way out,
War after war with no clear end,
Living each day on the edge again.
Seven bitter years, Joseph never knew,
What is a famine to what we’ve been through?
He dreamed of hunger, of empty land,
We faced storms he’d never understand.
This isn’t drought, it’s fire and fear,
He never lived through a single year
Like what we carried, what we survived—
Let’s fly to Thailand, just enjoy life.
No more headlines, no more pain,
Let’s disappear, just catch a plane.
Let’s all fly to Thailand ✈️
